Frequently asked questions

Getting started
Yes. Your first class is completely free and there is nothing to pay and no card details to enter. It is a real class with a real teacher so you can judge the teaching for yourself before deciding anything.
Not at all, and you are far from alone. A large share of our adult students begin exactly there. We start with Noorani Qaida, at your pace, in a private one-to-one class where nobody else is listening.
Most reverts begin with Noorani Qaida for reading alongside Islamic Studies for the essentials of belief and worship. Tell us where you are up to in the enquiry form and we will suggest a starting point without assuming any background knowledge.
A phone, tablet, laptop or desktop, a reasonably steady internet connection, and a copy of the Qur’an or Qaida. Everything else, including any learning material, is provided.
Classes and teachers
Both are available. One-to-one is the default because it lets the teacher work at exactly your pace. Small group classes can be arranged for siblings or friends learning together — simply choose the group option on the enquiry form.
Yes. Female students and children are taught by female teachers. There is a gender field on the enquiry form so this is arranged before the first class.
You choose either 30 minutes or 45 minutes, and the fee plans are priced separately for each. Children often do best with 30 minutes; adults, Tajweed detail and Hifz students frequently prefer 45.
Classes are taught in English. Support in Tamil is also available if that is easier for you — just ask.
Let your teacher know in advance and the class will be rescheduled within the same month wherever possible. We ask the same courtesy in return.
Fees and plans
Yes. The same plans apply to all nine subjects, whether you study Noorani Qaida, Tajweed, Hifz, Arabic, Tafseer or Islamic Studies. The only thing that changes the price is the class length you choose and how many classes you take each week.
Only the length of each class. A 30-minute class suits children and anyone building a steady habit. A 45-minute class gives more room for Tajweed detail, Hifz revision and Tafseer discussion, so it is the usual choice for adults.
No. There is no joining fee, no exam fee and no charge for materials. The monthly fee for your chosen plan is the only cost.
Yes, at the start of any month. Students often begin on the Basic plan and move up once they see how much time they can give.
Family and group arrangements can be discussed — please mention how many students you are enrolling when you enquire.
Fees are shown in US dollars so that students in every country can compare them easily. Payment arrangements are confirmed with you before classes begin.
Practical questions
Yes — this is normal for us. Our students are spread across the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, the Gulf and beyond. Tell us the times of day that suit you and we will propose slots that genuinely fit.
Within 24 hours, usually much sooner. If it is urgent, a WhatsApp message is the fastest way to reach us.
Yes. Students are recognised for completing stages of their learning, and the academy holds its annual Athar Awards for students.
